Tyrone Wilson and Jules Farr will present on a reparations project that their organizations collaborated on – the protection of a forgotten African burial ground in Kingston, New York. They employed a youth design team to create a public memorial at the site that was supported by the community, and this design will be implemented after the archaeological digs are completed.
Tyrone Wilson is the founder and Executive Director of the African American heritage organization, Harambee Kingston NY Inc. He co-led the protection of the Pine Street African Burial Ground, which Harambee now holds title to and stewards.
Jules Farr is the former executive director of the Kingston Land Trust and co-led the protection of the Pine Street African Burial Ground. Jules is currently consulting as a Fundraising Campaign Manager for Harambee Kingston NY Inc.
