The LibertyCon Planning Team meets monthly to plan and implement the yearlong Public History Presentation Series that is one of the major initiatives of Underground Railroad Education Center. The team works collaboratively on all elements of the planning and implementation. Team members select a particular focus area for which they would like to be responsible, collaborating with committee members to accomplish designated tasks related to the program’s development. Planning components include topic selection, presenter arrangements, sponsor and raffle arrangements, marketing, technology, and participant follow-up.
The LibertyCon Planning Team meets virtually on the first Monday of each month. Meeting information is located on the website Events Calendar.
The Collections Committee meets monthly and plans and implements International Archeology Day, tracks temperature and humidity in The Myers Residence, manages the archive and artifact collections, is setting up a virtual database of hundreds of period appropriate artifacts that contribute to a fuller understanding of the daily lived experiences of Stephen and Harriet Myers and their colleagues, and arranges exhibits in public spaces as well as at The Myers Residence. A great way to put a variety of skills to work in a fun environment. Appropriate for teens, college students, and adults.
