Join with Paul and Mary Liz Stewart and Amelia Paul at The Stephen and Harriet Myers Residence to learn the real story about the Underground Railroad. Hidey holes? Nope. Dark of night? Nope. Come ‘meet’ Stephen and Harriet Myers and their colleagues to learn about the challenges they faced as they worked to end the institution of enslavement in New York State and the nation and help Freedom Seekers to freedom.
The Stephen and Harriet Myers Residence, on Livingston Avenue in Albany’s Arbor Hill neighborhood, was a Capital Region hub for the Underground Railroad in the 1850s and assisted enslaved Black Americans seeking freedom.
