Echoes of Education: Generations of Black Voices in Albany – Opening Reception
Join us to celebrate the opening reception of Echoes of Education: Generations of Black Voices in Albany. As the third installation in our Black Experience Series, this exhibit explores stories of Black educators and community advocates who have worked to shape education in Albany. Informed by oral interviews and developed by Youth Curators of our Museum Studies Program, the exhibit looks at the importance of education, the changes that have taken place, and the work that remains.
The reception will take place on Friday, October 2nd at the Love Albany Center from 5:00 to 7:00 PM. The evening will include light refreshments and remarks, with ample time to view the exhibit and connect with others interested in this history.
The Love Albany Center is located at 8 Kate Street, Albany, NY. https://
Special thanks to Advance Albany County Alliance and the Carl E. Touhey Foundation and the Bender Family Foundation for funding this project.
