Join with UREC’s Young Abolitionists in honor of Banned Books Week. In this especially contentious time when book content is being weaponized and fear mongering is a routinely used strategy to encourage opposition to rational thinking, UREC has decided that it needs to step up as a participant in Banned Books Week. Some of our YALI teens will read passages from selected banned youth books at The Myers Residence on Monday, September 19 from 5:30pm-7pm.

This will be a hybrid event so that we can share with supporters near and far. Come in person to The Myers Residence backyard, weather permitting, or front parlor if the weather is inclement. We will welcome questions and look forward to engaging in a community discussion. Joining virtually will require registration. Please see the following Zoom registration information –
