Underground Railroad Education Center is excited to host its fourth Open Mic Coffee House. This September UREC is looking for some laughs and lighthearted humor to start the fall season off right! We are inviting you to perform a silly poem, humorous song, spoken word, or piece of comedy to bring a smile this September!

This relaxing and community focused evening brings us together to be uplifted, strengthened, and celebrated. You can choose to participate as a performer or simply sit back and enjoy our wonderfully talented friends and neighbors!

Performances run from 7pm-8pm and coffee house style conversation runs from 8pm-8:30pm. All proceeds from ticket sales go to Underground Railroad Education Center!

Some Details for Performers — —

— Performances are donated service

— Performances are 5 minutes in length

— We ask each performer to provide beforehand a video of the performance which is what we actually show at the coffee house so as to ensure that we avoid the vagaries of zoom and internet instability. Live performances are possible, however, so long as permission is arranged in advance with Mary Liz Stewart at 518-621-7793 or at marylizugr@gmail.com.

— We ask each performer to attend the coffee house if possible so as to introduce him/herself and the shared piece

— Once you have been approved as a performer (use this link to submit your request), video recordings will need to be uploaded by September 15 with performer name and name of piece to the link provided to you in an email sent directly to you.

Attendees and performers are invited to ‘hang around’ after performances end to chat for a bit and just enjoy each other’s company as we would do at an in-person coffee house.

There will also be a 50/50 raffle, tickets are 10 dollars and can be purchased at time of registration.

PLEASE REMEMBER THAT, AFTER REGISTERING FOR THE EVENT, YOU WILL RECEIVE AN EMAIL CONTAINING A LINK TO PRE-REGISTER IN ZOOM, AFTER WHICH YOU WILL RECEIVE THE LINK TO THE ACTUAL EVENT. This multiple-step process is necessary as a security measure.
