Young Abolitionist Leadership Institute Service Day – You are Invited to Participate
October 10, 2020 @ 10:00 am - 2:00 pm
Do you like to dig in the dirt? Like to plant flowers? Like to beautify a garden? Then this service day is for YOU!
Join forces with our Young Abolitionist Leadership Institute teens as they reclaim a once lovely Rock Garden that has languished over the last few years. Tucked in a corner of the Dr. Thomas Elkins lot, this garden was originally reclaimed from a debris strewn, overgrown corner of The Elkins lot and designed by a group of teens who were part of The Young Abolitionist Teen Scholars’ Institute five years ago. Groundhogs, ground freezing and thawing, weather, and animal activity have taken a toll on this lovely space.
Your help for any portion of the four hours the teens will be working to revitalize this garden space would be greatly appreciated. More hands means light work for all.
Tools, refreshments, and a restroom facility are available. Masks covering nose and mouth will be required at all times. Hand sanitizer will be available.
Call Mary Liz Stewart at 518-621-7793 of email at https://undergroundrailroadhistory.org/contact/ with questions or concerns.
See you on October 10!
