Voices and Votes: Democracy in America
Voices and Votes: Democracy in America, a traveling Smithsonian Institution exhibit about our democracy.
Engage with the story of Our Democracy through engaging storytelling, multimedia displays and oral interviews from local Albany residents.
This traveling Smithsonian Exhibit is on loan to Underground Railroad Education Center through January 9, 2026. Because the Interpretive Center is not available, the New York State Museum has very kindly offered space for the exhibit to be set up on the 4th floor Terrace Level of the Museum. An incredibly rich and thought provoking interactive display of voting rights in America, past to present.
More information from the Smithsonian is available by clicking here – https://museumonmainstreet.org/VoicesVotes
New York State Museum hours – Tuesday through Sunday 9:30am-5pm
And remember to view the other fantastic exhibits on display at the New York State Museum. Museum staff work diligently to create engaging exhibits about New York State yesterday and today, reminding us of what came before us, where we are today, and where we might go in the future.
