The Underground Railroad: Whose Story Do We Tell?

February 23, 2020 @ 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm

What more is there to know about the Underground Railroad? It was all about Harriet Tubman and Frederick Douglass and helping escaping slaves find freedom in Canada, wasn’t it? Whose voices contributed to this image of Underground Railroad history? Where did this understanding come from?

New research conducted by Paul and Mary Liz Stewart, Scholars-in-Residence at Russell Sage College, has uncovered some fascinating documentation that demonstrates that there is far more to this story than we have traditionally been taught.

Join with the Stewarts to find some answers to the quandary, “Whose story do we tell?”
