House Party fundraiser for the Interpretive Center
December 9, 2023 @ 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm
Join with others at a house party hosted by Lisbeth Calandrino, Board Member and supporter of UREC, to be held across the street from her home at Israel AME Church, 381 Hamilton Street in Albany. Founded in 1828 in Albany, Israel is the oldest Black church in Upstate New York. It was also a station on the Underground Railroad.
A house party is an opportunity for supporters to gather, share food and drink and pleasant conversation, and learn more about the Interpretive Center of Underground Railroad Education Center, and make a financial commitment in support of this project that is rising up from a dream proffered by the UREC Board of Directors back in 2008 when it was apparent that the work of UREC would not be able to be contained within the walls of The Stephen and Harriet Myers Residence.
Working with architect Shawn Hamlin of Hamlin Design Group, supported by funds from our state assembly and senate representatives, the dream is becoming a reality. Come spend a couple of hours in pleasant company in support of this monumental step being taken by UREC.
Please call Mary Liz Stewart at 518-621-7793 to let her know of your intended attendance. Please leave a message if she is not in.
See you there!
