SUMMARY:WINNERS HONORED FOR DANIEL STEWART MEMORIAL FUND AWARDS
DESCRIPTION:The Daniel Stewart Memorial Fund Early Career photography award of Underground Railroad Education Center announces its award recipients for 2022.\nAward recipients for 2022 include Jahniah Kum\, Nikolai Roschko and Laura Kordowski. Jahniah Kum will receive the top prize but awards will also be made to Nicholas Roschko and Laura Kordowski.\n  \nThe Daniel Stewart Memorial Fund was founded in 2020 to honor the memory of Daniel Stewart\, a Capital Region photographer\, who was tragically killed in a motorcycle accident in Forest Grove\, Oregon in that year. The fund is supported by community member contributions and seeks to support developing self-taught photographers who aspire to grow their careers. DONATE HERE to support next year’s early career photographers. \n  \nApplicants were asked to submit photographs\, a written statement and participate in an interview with the review committee. Judges included volunteers from the Underground Railroad Education Center board\, community volunteers and area photographers. \n  \nThe Early Career Photography Award will be presented on Sunday\, January 30th\, from 2:00 P.M. – 4:00  P.M. The event will be held in the second floor conference room of the Albany Center for Economic Success located at 255 Orange Street\, Albany\, New York 12210. Attendance space is limited due to COVID restrictions. Those in attendance should conform to New York State Department of Health Covid Protocols.
