Moving Heaven and Earth is the blended musical family of two Capital Region groups: The Heavenly Echoes with their Southern-soul-style gospel and JV&theCutters with their Chicago-style original blues. For the past several years, MH&E has been presenting blues and gospel music in the same program, celebrating their common heritage and continuing legacy in American roots music.
The Heavenly Echoes was founded more than 50 years ago by Deacon James Edmonds of Sweet Pilgrim Baptist Church in Albany, NY. In the Southern-soul style, the singers and musicians bring their authentic, heartfelt music to churches and community events throughout the Capital Region.
The JV & the Cutters Blues Band plays original blues with a Chicago-meets-St. Louis style. J.V.’s songs mix in some soul, rock, and jazz sounds with lyrics about modern situations to craft a “new urban blues”.
The Heavenly Echoes and JV&theCutters are donating their time and talent as a fundraiser for URHPCR.
