A Dishonorable Trade: Human Trafficking in the Dutch Atlantic World

Paul and Mary Liz Stewart will be the guest speakers at the opening of the Dishonorable Trade exhibition at Mabee Farm of Schenectady County Historical Society.

This traveling exhibit is curated by the NYS Department of Parks and Recreation. Divided into two parts, the exhibit examines the role that slavery played in the creation and maintenance of the Dutch trading empire, and delves into the lives and stories of the people affected by the trade.

Part of the Dishonorable Trade exhibition & lecture series, the opening reception with feature “An Overview of the Slave Trade presented by the Underground Railroad History Project.”

Mary Liz and Paul Stewart of the URHP will provide an overview of the slave trade, and discuss slavery research resources. Followed by a 30 minute Q&A. Refreshments served.
