An award winning, documented Underground Railroad site, The Stephen and Harriet Myers Residence stands as a tribute to the civil rights work of abolitionists Stephen and Harriet Myers and their colleagues; it stands as a tribute to John Johnson who was a successful business man in antebellum Albany, New York; it stands as a community anchor, and it stands as a call to us today to continue in the footsteps of our communal ancestors who understood that the legacy of the institution of slavery would continue to influence developments in our state, in our nation and around the world.
